Natural-looking lip filler at The Mansfield Park Clinic, a nurse-led clinic beside Carr Bank Park in Mansfield.
Every treatment is planned and carried out by Lara Eastwood, a Registered Nurse with nineteen years in the NHS and twelve in aesthetics, and it always starts with a consultation.
Book a ConsultationLip filler is a soft hyaluronic acid gel, placed in small amounts to add volume, sharpen the border of the lip or even out the difference between the top and bottom lip. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, which is why it sits comfortably in soft tissue like the lips.
It isn’t about making lips as big as possible. Most people who come to the clinic want lips that look like their own, only better balanced: a little more shape, a little more fullness, a clearer edge that catches the light.
Lara plans around the natural shape of your mouth and the rest of your face, so the aim is lips that suit you rather than a trend.
Best forThin or uneven lips, lost definition at the lip border, lips that have thinned with age Book a ConsultationLip filler is measured in millilitres, and most treatments use either 0.5ml or 1ml.
0.5ml is the subtle option. It suits a first treatment, a light top-up, or anyone who wants definition rather than obvious volume. 1ml gives a more noticeable change and suits lips that need more support, or more balancing between top and bottom.
Which is right for you is decided at your consultation, not before. Lara often suggests starting smaller and reviewing at a follow-up, because it is easy to add a little more and the aim is always a result that looks like you.
Your appointment starts with a conversation. Lara will ask what you’d like to change, go through your medical history and look at your lips and face as a whole before recommending anything. If lip filler isn’t the right answer, she’ll tell you.
If you go ahead, a numbing cream is applied first and the filler is placed with a very fine needle. Most people describe the feeling as pressure and mild stinging rather than pain.
Afterwards your lips will look and feel fuller than the final result for a few days. Swelling, tenderness and small bruises are common and settle on their own. The final shape is usually clear after about two weeks.
For the first 24 hours, avoid make-up on the lips, alcohol and strenuous exercise, and try not to press or massage the area unless you’ve been told to. Saunas, steam rooms and very hot drinks are best left for a couple of days.
You’ll leave with written aftercare instructions and a way to contact the clinic if anything worries you. If you have an event coming up, book at least two weeks before it so any swelling has time to settle.
It varies from person to person. For many people it lasts somewhere between six and twelve months, depending on the product used, how much is placed and how quickly their body breaks it down.
Lara will give you a realistic timescale for your lips at your consultation, including when a top-up might make sense.
Lips are sensitive, so numbing cream is applied before treatment. Most people feel pressure and some stinging rather than pain, and the treatment itself is quick.
That is the aim of every lip treatment here. Lara works in small amounts and plans around the natural shape of your mouth.
If what you’re asking for wouldn’t suit your face, she’ll say so and explain what would work better.
The price depends on how much filler you need, so it’s confirmed at your consultation once Lara has seen your lips.
You’ll have the full cost in writing before you decide anything, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
Yes, with some planning. Book at least two weeks before the date, so any swelling or bruising has settled and there’s time for a review if you need one.
Not always, which is one reason every treatment starts with a consultation. Lip filler isn’t offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the clinic doesn’t treat anyone under eighteen.
Lara will go through your medical history with you before recommending anything.
