Polynucleotide treatment at The Mansfield Park Clinic, a nurse-led clinic beside Carr Bank Park in Mansfield.
Every treatment is planned and carried out by Lara Eastwood, a Registered Nurse with nineteen years in the NHS and twelve in aesthetics, and it always starts with a consultation.
Book a ConsultationPolynucleotides are purified DNA fragments, injected into the skin to support its own repair processes. Rather than filling or hydrating, they work on skin quality, encouraging firmer and more resilient skin over time.
The change is gradual and subtle: better texture, more bounce, skin that looks less tired. Nothing is added to change your shape, which is why polynucleotides suit people who want improvement without looking treated.
It is a slower treatment, and it’s honest to say so. You won’t walk out looking different. The change builds across a course.
Best forThe under-eye area, crepey skin, the neck, fine lines around the mouth, uneven texture Book a ConsultationThe under-eye area is the most common reason people ask about polynucleotides. Skin there is thin and notoriously difficult to treat well, and polynucleotides are often a good fit for it.
Lara also treats the upper lip and the lines around the mouth, the neck, the lower face, and the face and neck together, depending on what your skin needs.
Which areas, and how many sessions, is decided at your consultation once Lara has assessed your skin.
Most people have a course of treatments spaced a few weeks apart, because the results build gradually. Lara will recommend how many sessions suit your skin and the area being treated.
Each session starts with a check of your skin. The polynucleotides are placed with very fine injections, and numbing cream can be used beforehand.
Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal and usually settle within a day or so. Some people have mild redness or bruising.
For the first 24 hours, avoid make-up on the treated area, alcohol and strenuous exercise, and try not to press or massage the area unless you’ve been told to. Saunas, steam rooms and strong heat are best left for a couple of days. Leave the small bumps alone; they settle on their own.
You’ll leave with written aftercare instructions and a way to contact the clinic if anything worries you.
Because they work by supporting your skin’s own repair, the improvement develops over weeks and can last for several months. Many people have a maintenance session once or twice a year.
Lara will give you a realistic plan at your consultation.
Gradually. Most people notice a change across the course rather than after the first session, and skin often keeps improving for some weeks after the last one.
No. Filler adds volume to change shape. Polynucleotides don’t add volume; they’re used to improve the quality of the skin itself.
The injections are very fine and numbing cream can be used beforehand. Most people describe a brief sting rather than pain.
The price depends on the area treated and how many sessions you need, so it’s confirmed at your consultation once Lara has assessed your skin.
You’ll have the full cost in writing before you decide anything, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
Not always, which is one reason every treatment starts with a consultation. It isn’t offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the clinic doesn’t treat anyone under eighteen.
Lara will go through your medical history with you, including any allergies, before recommending anything.
