What happens at your consultation

It starts with a conversation. Lara will ask what you'd like to change and why, then go through your medical history, including any allergies. She'll look at your skin and face as a whole, not just the area you came in about.

Then she'll recommend what she thinks will work, and explain what it involves: how many sessions, what to expect afterwards and how long results are likely to last for you. If a treatment isn't the right answer, she'll tell you, and explain what would suit you better.

Cost, in writing, with no obligation

Prices for most treatments depend on what you need, so they're confirmed at your consultation. You'll have the full cost in writing before you decide anything, and there's no obligation to go ahead. Taking time to think it over is normal.

Who can't be treated

Some treatments aren't offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the clinic doesn't treat anyone under eighteen. Your consultation is also where anything in your medical history that affects your options is picked up.

Questions worth asking any clinic

• Can I check their registration? Nurses can be checked on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register.
• What exactly will be used, and why is it right for me?
• What aftercare will I get, and who do I contact if something worries me?
